If you think these standards have not been met, you should tell the
person named in the standard, or any adult who supports you can tell
them for you. If you do not want to do this or are unhappy with the
response you get, you can make a complaint.
There are different ways to complain and you can choose which way
you prefer:
- speak to your lawyer (if you have one)
- contact the Youth Justice Service (YJS) supporting you
Read more about the complaints process for your experience in court.
You can complain about your lawyer to the Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Bar Standards Board.
Complain about the court decision
If you think the court was wrong to find you guilty or you’re not
happy with your sentence, you need to follow a separate ‘appeal’
process. Your lawyer can give you advice on this.
